One of the advantages of a 24-hour course of study is that it gets you quickly
up to speed on a subject. However, because programming is a technical, jargon-packed
field, there might be things you're still unclear about. There also might be things
I was unclear about--errors and other confusing information that could benefit from
a clarification.
If you have questions about any of the subjects covered in this book or suggestions
on ways this and other books could be improved, please visit the official Web site

This Web site will feature several different types of information, updated by
the author:
- Error corrections and clarifications: When errors are brought to my attention,
they will be described on the site with the corrected text and any other material
that will help.
- Answers to reader questions: If readers have questions that aren't covered in
this book's Q&A sections, they might be presented on the site.
- Links to other Sams.net book pages: These links will provide a quick way to see
what else is available from Sams, including the other books of the 24 Hours series.
- Sample Java programs: Working versions of some programs that were featured in
this book will be available on the site.
- Updated links to the sites mentioned in this book: Since the Web changes faster
than Roseanne changes surnames, you might try some of the URLs mentioned in this
book and find that they no longer work. If the site has moved elsewhere and I know
about the new URL, I'll offer it here.
- An AOL-style chat page implemented with Java: Using EarthWeb's chat applet, a
Java programming chat room will be offered on the site for informal gatherings about
the subjects covered in the book.
- An expanded version of the Craps applet from Hours 21 and 22: If you're
still feeling a little depressed about the craps skills you didn't develop while
growing up, come to the site for an adaptation of this book's Craps applet
that displays some other advanced programming.
- At least one link related to the Dallas Stars: This link is offered for no other
reason than the author's newfound love of professional hockey.
